Develop analytical, practical, technical and creative skills to inform, entertain and shape opinions, ideas and attitudes of those around you on this Media and Creative Writing degree. At Bangor University, our goal is to help you find your voice, critically and creatively, as you study and practise a wide range of genres, styles and forms of writing and media. Studying Media and Creative Writing in combination, you’ll consider creative production and practice as a reader, writer, producer, consumer and critic.<br/><br/>The course will develop your skills in writing novels, short fiction, creative non-fiction, flash fiction, hybrid forms, and poetry. You will engage in technologies and techniques used in digital media, television, radio, film and emerging forms of media like automated journalism, vlogs or short-form videos like TikTok.<br/><br/>The focus is very much on practical experience on our Media and Creative Writing degree. You’ll be mentored by published writers and poets, film and media practitioners, and academic researchers who are experts in their field. The expertise of our staff spans advertising, media regulation, privacy, political communication, journalism, professional writing, comics, visual culture, gender and the media, global media, social networks, and documentary.<br/><br/>With a portfolio of work to demonstrate your technical and creative skills in writing, editing, proofing, blogging, and publishing, you’ll be equipped for careers across the media, cultural and creative industries.<br/><br/>‘Placement Year’ and International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time.
