This will give you a chance to apply what you learn at university to real-life settings and see how schools work day-to-day. <br/><br/>In Geography, youll explore environmental and social issues including climate change, migration, disaster risk reduction, river management, and cultural representation. <br/><br/>**Share your passion for Geography with the next generation** <br/>This course sets you up to progress into teaching through qualifications including our Secondary Geography PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) and from there to your future career. <br/><br/>Many of our graduates choose to become secondary school teachers, but thats not the only path open to you. Well support you in achieving your aspirations as a professional educator – however they develop during the degree.<br/><br/>**More about the Professional Placement Year**<br/>A Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where a student undertakes a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between the students second and third years of undergraduate study. Students can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) themselves with support from the Careers and Employability Team.
