The BA (Hons) Musical Theatre at CAST Studio combines practical training, creative exploration and performance experience to prepare you for your next steps into the profession.**

Singing, dance and acting sit at the heart of the course. Working with experienced professional performers, you will develop your technique across a range of styles and learn to bring these disciplines together in performance. Alongside your training, you will build the confidence, adaptability and professional awareness needed to engage with an evolving industry.

Production work is central to your training. Throughout the course, you will apply your skills to increasingly demanding projects, learning to interpret material, develop characters and work with fellow performers and creative teams. Dedicated periods of intensive rehearsal for key productions reflect the demands of professional practice, helping you develop discipline, stamina and an understanding of the rehearsal process.

Alongside your practical work, you will explore the history and development of musical theatre, its place in popular culture and the social and political influences that shape it. Studying established repertoire alongside more recent innovations will broaden your understanding of the form and help you make informed, imaginative choices in performance. Reflection on your own work will help you recognise your progress and identify where you want to grow.

Based in the heart of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, CAST Studio offers a creative setting in which to train, rehearse and perform, with teaching spaces and an auditorium. The town’s cafés, shops and cultural venues, including nearby The Apex, place you within a lively local community.
