Study the Football Coaching and Performance degree at Cardiff Met to develop yourself as a football coach and build the knowledge, confidence and professional skills needed to work across the modern game. On this degree, you will explore what it takes to design, deliver and reflect on effective coaching practice, while developing a deeper understanding of players, teams, learning, leadership and performance environments.
A key feature of the course is its commitment to authentic learning. This means you will be encouraged to connect what you study with the realities of football coaching practice. Through practical coaching, placement learning, case studies, reflective tasks and applied projects, you will have opportunities to explore real coaching challenges and develop your own approach as a coach.
Placement learning is embedded within the programme and supports you to apply your learning in football, sport or performance-related environments. These experiences will help you build professional behaviours, develop confidence, reflect on your coaching practice and understand the wider roles and responsibilities connected to working in football.
The degree is designed for students who want to progress as football coaches, but also recognises the wider opportunities connected to coaching, education, player development, leadership and support roles in sport. Throughout the course, you will build a professional portfolio that demonstrates your growth, experience and readiness for the next stage of your career.
