This specialist Artificial Intelligence degree combines strong foundations in mathematics, statistics, programming and software engineering with advanced study in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision and natural language processing.
From your first year, you will design and build real AI systems through practical laboratories, team projects and individual project work. Teaching is informed by our AI Research Centre and Institute, giving you access to academics working on real-world AI challenges across healthcare, autonomous systems and intelligent data analysis.
A defining feature of the programme is the substantial 450-hour individual AI project, allowing you to develop expertise in an area that matches your interests and career ambitions. You will graduate with a strong technical portfolio demonstrating your ability to develop, evaluate and deploy AI solutions.
The course includes an optional placement year, providing the opportunity to gain valuable industry experience and strengthen your professional skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers including machine learning engineer, AI consultant, research scientist and AI developer, or for further postgraduate study.

We welcome applications from students studying the Access to HE Diploma. Below provides our grade and pathway requirements, though all applications are considered holistically including work experience. Pass in a QAA recognised Access to HE Diploma. Full award (60 credits) of which a minimum of 45 credits must be at Level 3 including 30 credits at Distinction and 15 credits at Merit. Accepted pathways: Computing, Computer Science, Computer Game Design and Development, Computer Science and Maths, Digital Software Development.

GCSE: A minimum of grade 6 (B) in Mathematics and grade 4 (C) in English Language or English Literature in addition to other outlined requirements.
