Games Programming and Development Bachelor of Science (with Honours) - BSc (Hons)

New for September 2027, BSc (Hons)/MSci Games Programming and Development\* has been created for those who love the technical side of game development and want to understand how game systems, artificial intelligence, gameplay mechanics, tools, and interactive experiences are engineered. This course combines programming, game design, technical problem-solving and collaborative development. 

Built *by* industry, *for* industry, this degree brings together key modules from our established Programming and Game Design programmes, designed in collaboration with Creative Assembly, Framestore and nDreams. 

You’ll learn in a studio-based environment from expert tutors whose credits include RuneScape and Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers.  

With more than 50 longstanding studio partners, meaningful industry engagement is woven throughout your experience. You'll get continuous opportunities to meet industry professionals, showcase your work and gain valuable feedback. 

By the time you graduate, you'll have a distinctive understanding of not only coding, but also how technical systems interact with wider game production, including collaboration, pipelines, tools, testing, project management, and studio workflows. You'll have the knowledge to contribute across disciplines, a growing specialist portfolio, and the industry connections to help launch your career in the games industry and beyond.
