Goldsmiths is AMAZING

The BA Design course is like no other, I have never come across such a unique course that teaches you everything from speculative design, interacting with communities, to augumentated reality and material workshops.

Education / Teacher Training, Graduate

It was so fun, everyone was so friendly. There was a wide range of activities. It was a great way to interact with other students and get to know everyone. I didn't stay in accommodation. I was living with my parents. Everything was truly great. We had a gym, a little student area where students can unwind and just relax. We had so many study areas and the library covered everything I needed for my course. Lecturers reach out to you and are really supportive. They were great to open up to and made it comfortable to speak if we didn't understand something. Loud. Mainly because London is very loud with congestion and traffic. But shopping, cafes and other things like that were very accessible.

Good course

(4.8)·By Amy S·Music· Jun 2024
I have enjoyed my course. It is full of people, connections, and opportunities. I would say that it is mostly independent learning and COVID probably made it harder to teach the course effectively, but overall a good experience. The university itself has a good reputation in the arts, so it helps in starting your career, and the career team is great. The actual lecturers are very knowledgeable and helpful. They could offer more online options as I did my course from Bristol, but the lectures were very accommodating. The actual institution isn’t run well - the registry team is impossible to get through to and very unhelpful.

Business Studies / Management, Graduate

The student union held a good range of events for freshers week. New cross was a great area of London to experience freshers week due to the variety of clubs and bars in close proximity. Living in halls definitely added to my experience in terms of meeting new people. Goldsmiths halls are all in close proximity to the university, between 2-20 minutes walk from the main campus. They are all in lively areas with lots of bars, restaurants and good transport links close by. They have communal areas making it easy to mix with other students. The university had great facilities, including a large and modern library with a great range of resources that can be used 24 hours a day. I also really enjoyed using Universities cinema, gym, cafe and student union bar. I particularly enjoyed how practical and engaging the majority of my lectures and assignments were. We had the opportunity to work on real life projects as well as completing work placements with some of London's top cultural organisations. Living in London was one of the best parts of my university experience. I was able to experience a range of culture within the city and work with a variety of organisations. This helped to enhance my learning as my course was very hands-on.

Economics, Year 2

(4.8)·By Mia S·Economics· Jul 2021
It was amazing, we had lots of events students could attend to have fun and socialise. Also held freshers fair for students to attend and get to know all the club and society that runs at uni. I live at home hence not aware of how's it like. There's so many facilities for students to use during your lectures and seminars but also to use with fellow students and friends for practice. The library has its own building with different floors having different facilities. They are challenging but enjoyable and understandable. There's so much interesting content learnt just in one lecture hence throughout the year, a lot of new and interesting knowledge is learnt. It's in central London hence everything is very near by and there are lots of shops and activities do to around there. All the amazing places like tower bridge are nearby travel distance making it fun to explore.

Media Studies, Graduate

(4.8)·By Faizah H·Media Studies· Jul 2021
It was alright. Didn't love it, it was mostly just parties and as an international student there was nothing that appealed to me It was alright, I was comfortable. There wasn't much respect for diversity to be honest. I felt misunderstood but my room was comfortable The library was nice but the students union was sub par. There was not much to do except have events or parties at the weekend. Wish there were more social opportunities It was diverse. I got to learn a lot and meet lots of different people. I studies a wide variety of subjects areas which I liked most Love London. It was always exciting there was always something to do. Once I made friends I was never lonely so in that way it was great

Art / Design, Year 2

It was chill, we didn't go to the bigges parties because they were way tooo overpriced so we just throw some party they we like them:) It was really nice, I chose the cheapest one but the building was renovated not long ago so it was really nice and most of the people were nice too Libary is my favourite, the equipment is pretty good, and the gym was closed but I liked to use it too Really interesting and futuristic London is the BEST, but too many people and capitalism is flourishing here

It was good, I got to meet loads of people Good, sociable & cheap accommodation! Maintenance could've been better though Great, love the library! I really like how I got to explore different aspects of media and I had access to all the facilities, such as dark rooms, editing suites, etc Living in London is great, there are so many opportunities and you always meet interesting characters along the way
