Campus Locations
Edinburgh Campus
Heriot-Watt’s main campus is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The beautiful, green campus has accommodation and everything you need to feel at home, including the Student Union, sports facilities, gym, woodland walks and a dentist and doctors’ surgery.
Edinburgh city centre can be reached by bus in 30 minutes and regular day and night services run from campus. The free bus travel scheme in Scotland means that those under 22 will have their fare covered.

Student Life
There’s a real sense of community at Heriot-Watt which is helped by being a campus university. With over 2,000 students living on campus and over 60 clubs and societies for students to get involved with there are so many ways to build friendships and engage with other students. The Student Union and Sports Union are hubs of activity with different spaces for students to socialise and events throughout the year.
Being based just outside Edinburgh city centre is a huge part of the student experience. Edinburgh is a vibrant, student-friendly city that offers culture, nightlife, bars, cafes, shopping, beaches and green space. It’s also easy to get to other areas of Scotland if you’re looking to experience more of the city life or explore Scotland’s mountains and breathtaking scenery.
Tuition Fees, Scholarships and Bursaries
Tuition Fees
If you’re from England, Wales or Northern Ireland, tuition fees for full-time undergraduate students are £9,250 per year. If you’re from Scotland, then your tuition fees are usually paid for you by the Students Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS). You must apply to SAAS for payment of your tuition fees each year, even if you are not applying for any other support.
