You’ll gain deep knowledge and understanding of the issues that affect them.<br/><br/>As part of this course, you’ll:<br/><br/><br/>- Gain a whole-child perspective, from pre-birth to adulthood<br/><br/><br/>- Prepare for a career that involves working with children and families, from teaching through to community work<br/><br/><br/>- Undertake innovative, child and family-focused professional placements, in settings such as schools, social care or early years <br/><br/><br/>- Develop a deep understanding of influences upon children and families<br/><br/><br/>- Consider childhood and childrens lives from different perspectives<br/><br/><br/>- Examine the experiences of children in different national and global contexts <br/><br/><br/>**Find out more**<br/><br/>**Your course structure**<br/><br/>This course is structured around four strands:<br/><br/><br/>- The Sociology & Social Policy strand examines the relationship between the child, family, community and state<br/><br/><br/>- The Psychology & Development strand investigates the various influences upon child development<br/><br/><br/>- The Contemporary Debates in Childhood strand explores current issues relevant to children and families including childrens rights, childhood research, and moral dilemmas<br/><br/><br/>- The Critical Reflection strand will develop and grow your research skills and expertise to an honours graduate level and enable you to plan your career<br/><br/><br/>**Breadth of learning**<br/><br/>Our staff come from a variety of professional backgrounds, adding depth and breadth to your learning.
