We need engineers who can bring broader experience and listen to a variety of voices to address the challenges we all face. This means doing things differently. <br/><br/>This degree will give you the opportunity to design, test, and improve solutions within electronic and electrical engineering. Your work will address some of the biggest problems facing society today. Your creativity and technical skills will enable you to join a new generation of engineers. <br/><br/>As part of this course, you’ll:<br/><br/><br/>- Understand how to design and build sustainable solutions using a wide range of electronic, embedded and control systems<br/><br/><br/>- Work with engineers across a broad discipline, from electronics and electrical engineering, civil and building services engineering to computing, robotics, AI and data analysis<br/><br/><br/>- Complete a significant project each year, where you can learn how to design, test and improve the answers to real problems<br/><br/><br/>- Have the opportunity to complete a year in industry to build your practical workplace experience<br/><br/><br/>**Professionally recognised**<br/>This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer.<br/><br/>**Find out more**<br/><br/>**Sandwich year option**<br/>You’ll have the option to complete a sandwich year and apply your skills in practice. A year working in industry will enable you to begin building your future career and professional network as you study.<br/><br/>**Choose your direction**<br/>In your final year, you’ll choose your own direction for your major project. You’ll could build on your specialism or explore new areas. We’ll support you at every step, with guidance during your studies and beyond into your career. UCAS Tariff112 128 Minimum 72-80 from two A Levels or equivalent. This must include 40 points from a Maths or science related subject. If you are studying Biology, Chemistry or Physics to meet this requirement you must also achieve a `Pass' in the practical assessment, where that practical assessment is separated (from 2017) GCSE/National 4/National 5GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade C or above (Grade 4 for those sitting their GCSE from 2017 onwards) or equivalent. Key Skills Level 2, Functional Skills Level 2 and the Certificate in Adult Literacy/Numeracy are accepted in place of GCSEs. |
