With school placements every year, you’ll start shaping your professional teacher identity from day one and graduate as a research-informed educator.<br/><br/><strong>What you’ll do</strong><br/>As part of this course, you’ll:<br/><br/><br/>• Master the curriculum – develop deep subject knowledge across all areas of the EYFS and National Curriculum<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Become a child expert – explore how children learn and discover how to adapt your teaching to meet the needs of every pupil (aged 3-11, depending on your pathway)<br/><br/><br/><br/>- <strong>Find your teacher voice</strong> – grow your personal teaching style through extensive, high-quality school placements<br/><br/><br/>- <strong>Get Creative</strong> – practise a creative and inclusive approach to teaching that really connects with children<br/><br/><br/>- <strong>Be a Pioneer</strong> – lead your own practitioner enquiry project in your final year, using your research to shape future classroom practice<br/><br/><br/><strong>Find Out More</strong><br/><br/><strong>Placements: From student to teacher</strong><br/>This course blends theory and practice from day one. Your learning links closely to real-life teaching experiences through school placements, helping you build confidence, skills, and a strong professional identity while working towards your teaching qualification. With expert guidance and dedicated mentors, you’ll grow into an inspiring and reflective practitioner.<br/><br/><strong>Build your practical experience</strong><br/>We work in partnership with over 150 schools across Leeds and the wider West Yorkshire region, offering a wide range of placement opportunities. Each year, youll spend a minimum of eight weeks in diverse school settings, fully supported by your course team and in-school mentors. This variety gives you the depth of experience across needed to thrive in the classroom. <br/><br/><strong>Learn across settings</strong><br/>Your learning extends beyond traditional classrooms. In your first year, you’ll have the opportunity to complete Forest School training, making the most of our green campus and outdoor learning spaces. Youll also take part in focused visits to a range of educational settings. In your final year, modules such as ‘Securing the Curriculum’ and ‘Focusing on Broader Curriculum’ enable you to follow your passions and tailor your studies as you prepare for your Early Career Teacher (ECT) years.<br/><br/><strong>Innovative assessments</strong><br/>You’ll be assessed through creative, coursework-based tasks – with no formal written exams. Expect engaging assignments like group podcasts, lively debates, and individual presentations.
