Law LLB (Hons)

Our LLB (Hons) Law degree will give you the knowledge, tools and experience that will ready you for a rewarding career as a legal professional. <br/>Your studies at our London university will focus on the law in action and will be led by our staff practitioners who are experts in law and legal practice.<br/>We understand the importance of not just learning about law but putting your theoretical knowledge into practice. As such, you will have the chance to undertake work experience placements that will help boost your legal skills and expand your understanding of the current issues facing the profession.<br/><br/>What youll study<br/>The LLB Law degree is the first step towards obtaining the necessary knowledge to embark on the subsequent professional qualifications to become either a solicitor or a barrister.<br/>We aim to give you a comprehensive education in all aspects of the law. You will experience:<br/>• pre-course support to help you prepare for your studies<br/>• field trips to locations such as the European Court of Human Rights, Supreme Court, Old Bailey, Inns of Court<br/>• overseas study trips<br/>• regular mooting competitions – your chance to practise your skills in a simulated courtroom scene<br/>• the opportunity to compete for student prizes.<br/>Our law course lets you focus on applying knowledge in practice, using real-world legal scenarios. All modules are taught with reference to current legal practice, in order to keep you up to date with ongoing changes in the profession. <br/>As you work towards attaining your LLB degree, you will develop a thorough understanding of the complexities of the legal system and enhance key skills to help you navigate your new career.<br/>You will also have the chance to learn from the wisdom and experience of leading guest speakers, including academics, barristers, judges and solicitors. Their expertise will raise your awareness of how the law operates in the real world.<br/>Work experience<br/>Throughout your degree, you will be encouraged to gain work experience that allows you to put what you have learned into context in a professional work environment. You could work with an agency, such as the Citizens Advice Bureau or the Free Representation Network, Ealing Advice Service, West London Equality Centre and several other local and national services.
