Our exciting and innovative Nursing (Adult) degree course will enable you to deliver and lead on safe, effective and compassionate care for adults with a range of health conditions.**<br/><br/>Our adult nursing degree course provides the perfect environment and opportunity for you to get hands-on training and experience. We have outstanding facilities including a replica hospital ward on campus where you can practise and hone your skills, while our network of healthcare contacts will enable you to take on invaluable industry placements in a variety of settings, from NHS trusts to community care.<br/><br/>You will learn from our expert clinical practitioners and develop a strong understanding of human development, key body systems, pharmacology and safe management of medicine, as well as the personal and technical skills needed to deliver compassionate, high-quality care across many different settings. This course is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), enabling you to apply for Registered Nurse status when you complete your degree.<br/><br/>**WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE?**<br/>- **Practice placements** – Take on multiple placements in a range of clinical and community settings, from GP surgeries, care homes and hospices to visiting patients in their homes<br/><br/><br/>- **Practical application** – Perfect your practical skills on campus in our Health Skills and Simulation Suite, with state-of-the-art simulation facilities including a replica hospital ward<br/><br/><br/>- **Industry approved** – Train to today’s gold standard in line with the NMC’s ‘Future nurse: Standards of proficiency for registered nurses’, and apply for Registered Nurse status when your graduate<br/><br/><br/>**FACILITIES**<br/>As a student on our adult nursing course, you will have access to University College Birminghams Health Skills and Simulation Suite. This purpose-built facility includes a six-bed replica hospital ward complete with simulation manikins and integrated filming and audio equipment.<br/><br/>The suite also includes a community care environment, allowing you to practise working in the variety of settings you may encounter in your future career, while we have a clinical skills teaching room with virtual reality technology to support your training, along with additional study and teaching areas for our nursing students.<br/><br/>**PLACEMENTS**<br/>Our course features multiple placements in different environments throughout your studies, ranging in duration from four weeks to 14 weeks.<br/><br/>Participating in care delivered over 24 hours a day and 7 days per week is an integral part of the course, so you will be expected to adopt various shift patterns.
