Classics and Ancient History MA (Res)

The Department of Classics and Ancient History offers the opportunity to carry out postgraduate research in a distinctively wide range of areas, from all the major civilisations of the ancient Mediterranean, to all periods of classical antiquity.<br/><br/>We offer two options for postgraduate research, whether you are looking to complete your academic studies with a PhD or to pursue an MA by Research following an undergraduate degree a related field<br/><br/>Relevant taught modules may be attended by arrangement to develop appropriate research skills; this includes the study of ancient languages. Subject to programme requirements and the approval of your supervisor, you can access training in:<br/><br/>• Greek<br/>• Latin<br/>• Ancient Egyptian<br/><br/>**Why study this course?**<br/>- Postgraduate community: The Department has a large postgraduate community that has its own forum and journal (Rosetta) and schedule of meetings at which postgraduates present their research. Postgraduates also organise an annual postgraduate colloquium which students and staff attend.
