This Foundation Year in Health and Life Sciences is designed to prepare you for degree-level study across a range of health, biomedical and life science disciplines. It provides a supportive entry point if you do not yet meet the requirements for direct entry onto a degree, or if you are returning to study.<br/><br/>During the year, you will develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed at university while exploring different areas within health and life sciences. You will build a strong understanding of how the human body functions, how health and disease are studied, and how science is applied in real-world healthcare and research settings.<br/><br/>You will develop key academic and professional skills such as communication, numeracy, critical thinking and independent learning. You will also be introduced to scientific inquiry and data analysis, learning how to interpret evidence and understand patterns in health and biological data. Alongside this, you will explore the role of public health in society and develop an awareness of professional practice in health and science.<br/><br/>Successful completion of the Foundation Year allows you to progress onto a range of degree programmes, including biomedical science, forensic science, health professions such as nursing and occupational therapy, and other related disciplines.
