**Course Overview**<br/><br/>The way that we learn and develop as children underpins our entire lifespan and lies at the heart of our Education and Psychology with Foundation Year course. <br/><br/>**Why study with us**<br/><br/><br/>- There’s an opportunity to undertake a placement in an educational setting at each stage of our programme. <br/><br/><br/>- You’ll study in our state-of-the-art Psychology Building, with a specialist video child observation suite and cognitive laboratories.<br/><br/><br/>- Gain international work experience through our Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership (CVCL).<br/><br/><br/>**What youll do**<br/><br/><br/>- You’ll come away with the skills required to enhance a child’s development and enable teachers to become more aware of the social factors affecting learning.<br/><br/><br/>- Participate in staff research projects, present to research conferences, or work as a part-time research assistant. <br/><br/><br/>- Our School of Psychology contains over 30 laboratories including many designated for student use in new, purpose-built facilities.<br/><br/><br/>**Future Careers**<br/><br/>Education and Psychology Foundation Year could lead to a career in a primary or secondary school, or further education teaching following a PGCE or other postgraduate teacher training. You could also work in public services and teaching support roles.
