**Course Overview**<br/><br/>On our Neuroscience (Foundation Entry) course you’ll take a multidisciplinary approach to studying how the brain and nervous system work. You’ll receive a solid foundation in science as you develop your knowledge of how we understand and treat neurological disorders and diseases.<br/><br/>**Why study with us**<br/><br/><br/>- The foundation year will provide you with an interesting and stimulating grounding in science.<br/><br/><br/>- The course will enable you to gain key practical skills in our modern, spacious and well-equipped laboratory facilities.<br/><br/><br/>- You’ll learn how the brain and nervous system work to alter behaviour, perception, mood and memory.<br/><br/><br/>**What youll do**<br/><br/><br/>- Enhance your practical skills with a variety of hands-on Biology and Chemistry laboratory sessions and Physics workshops.<br/><br/><br/>- Neuroscience is literally the science of the brain and you’ll develop knowledge from a wide range of disciplines including biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology and psychology.<br/><br/><br/>- You can use this foundation year as an opportunity to get to know other foundation students on different science-based degree programmes.<br/><br/><br/>**Future Careers**<br/><br/>Our Neuroscience Foundation Entry degree could lead to a career in science teaching, science writing, research and lab work. You could also end up working in labs and rehabilitation centres or pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry or hospitals. Or you may want to train as a science teacher or continue studying this fascinating subject.
