Our BA (Hons) Sound Design course provides a creative and practical experience. The course covers different areas of industry including music production, sound design for film, TV, animation, games, podcasts, radio, audio installations, theatre and VR/AR/MR.

**Course Overview**<br/><br/>Our BA (Hons) Sound Design course provides a creative and practical experience. The course covers different areas of industry including music production, sound design for film, TV, animation, games, podcasts, radio, audio installations, theatre and VR/AR/MR.<br/><br/>On this course you will learn technical skills in professional studio spaces. Youll learn to create, record, mix and master audio and sound design for broadcast, live shows and integration with visual media.<br/><br/>Collaboration throughout the course encourages you to engage with students from other areas. Working together, youll develop your skills and gain experience across a range of disciplines.<br/><br/>This course is flexible and youre encouraged and supported to develop skills to match individual interests. Module content is varied and delivered by academics with specialisms across the field.<br/><br/>**Why study with us**<br/><br/><br/>- Facilities include, multiple world class recording studios, bespoke podcast studio, Foley pit, theatres, TV and Film studios, games lab and animation studios. <br/><br/><br/>- With a strong focus on employability, there are multiple opportunities to work on ‘Live Briefs’ that will be broadcast or released providing credits that add to your personal portfolio. <br/><br/><br/>- World leading research projects inform teaching and ensure that students are learning new and emerging techniques that integrate across a range of sound design outputs. <br/><br/><br/>**What youll do**<br/><br/><br/>- Youll attend lectures, workshops and seminars that underpin the theoretical, technical and practical knowledge required to develop and succeed in the industry.<br/><br/><br/>- As the degree develops, you will develop your technical skills through studio-based sessions from fundamental knowledge to advanced skills and applications strengthening employability upon graduation. <br/><br/><br/>- Attend guest lectures delivered by sound designers, TV directors, games audio experts, music industry specialists, producers, artists and performers. <br/><br/><br/>**Future Careers**<br/><br/>Successful completion of BA (Hons) Sound Design at the University of Central Lancashire will provide the skills and knowledge required for a career in the creative industries. <br/><br/>Employment avenues include:<br/><br/><br/>- Postproduction for film and TV <br/><br/><br/>- Radio production<br/><br/><br/>- Podcast production<br/><br/><br/>- Sound design for games<br/><br/><br/>- Theatre<br/><br/><br/>- Art installations<br/><br/><br/>- Music production. <br/><br/><br/>The creative industries are currently worth over £115bn per year in the UK. This growth is driving the need for unique audio and sound design for many different areas.
