Gain the knowledge and skills to play your part in tackling social and environmental injustice and the global climate emergency, and understand the role of people as agents of change.<br/><br/>Our BA course, which is accredited by the Royal Geographical Society, allows you to focus on human geographical approaches to exploring places, understanding environments and influencing change. You will gain the knowledge and skills to tackle issues from climate crisis response and food insecurity to social inequality and digital exclusion.<br/><br/>Amid a vibrant, research active and friendly department, which adopts innovative technology-informed approaches to learning, you will explore the dynamic relationships that shape people and places. You will develop the knowledge, skills and understanding sought by graduate employers, enabling you to influence change and play your part in creating a sustainable future.<br/><br/>Our Geography courses are ranked 8th in the UK for student satisfaction and in the top 20 for graduate prospects (Complete University Guide, 2022). Whilst the BA Geography focuses on the development of specialisms in human geography, you can if you wish also incorporate elements of physical geography in your module selection. We embed a wide range of transferable skills and graduate attributes throughout the course – including those developed through fieldwork – and provide an invaluable opportunity to gain formal workplace experience through a work placement at the end of Year 2.
