You’ll develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to support young children and their families, making a lasting difference to future generations.<br/>Blending theory with practice, the course includes 80 days of placement across a range of early years settings. This hands-on experience helps you apply your learning, build professional skills and boost your employability.<br/>You’ll graduate as a confident, reflective practitioner and critical thinker, with a qualification recognised as ‘full and relevant’ by the Department for Education. The course is suitable whether you’re progressing from Level 3 study or already working in early childhood and looking to advance your career, with flexible full-time and part-time options.<br/>Each year includes placement opportunities in settings such as nurseries, schools and specialist organisations, with your final placement tailored to your interests. You’ll also learn in a simulated early years environment to prepare for practice.<br/>On successful completion, if you are interested in pursuing a career in primary teaching you’ll be guaranteed an interview for a Primary Education PGCE (3–11) at Herts and receive support to consider a number of other careers working with children; With opportunities to study abroad and 100% coursework-based assessment, this degree offers a practical and supportive route into a fulfilling career.
