University of Hull

I don't remember there being anything on during the freshers week. We had an induction lecture to each module the week teaching began. But for the first two weeks of freshers there was nothing. I lived at home in my first year. I moved into private accommodation (not affiliated with University of Hull) in my second and third year. I think the facilities at Hull Uni are brilliant. We have so much study space to suit each individual. Lots of places to eat around the campus and within the Union. The gym is brilliant and has a student discount. The course (criminology) is brilliant. My lecturers are all down to earth and understanding people. They make the content interesting and informative. Hull is a friendly city. The nightlife is brilliant. Although the uni isn't near the city centre there is so much close by.

In my opinion Hull university is the best university ever, I can't fault it. The lecturers friendly and are passionate about what they're teaching and make the subject very engaging. Support is freely available to everyone in every area from financial to mental health to essay writing. You truly feel that nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they put your education and well-being first. The best thing about the university is the huge library where you can find pretty much everything you could ever need to aid your study.

The nightlife is brilliant and Hull as a city is very lively and there's always something going on.

The university makes sure students are aware of the many opportunities available to them such as sports teams, volunteering and jobs.

It's a really great university with some really interesting and unique people. It always offers activities to get involved, and there are more clubs and societies than you can shake a stick at!

Great studying areas's nice and quiet, great services whether your having trouble or performing great staff are always very friendly and its genuinely a great university amazing atmosphere around the Campus, had some amazig nights out in the loacal nightclubs in which there are always special events in the university club.

Library and the area around the campus is full of good value shops and such a great community around the local area allowing you to go on nice dates out with friends and around plenty of accommodation information sites giving you plenty of stuff to do and lots of great, fond new memories have taken place going to this excellent University.

A really positive experience, staff were so helpful and supportive. Everyone is very welcoming The accommodation at the university is Modern and clean. It's a really homely environment very central and easy access to bars, the gym and campus The library is the best place to study, it's such a nice area and makes you really motivated to do your work. Booking rooms to study with friends or groups also really helps The course modules are so interesting there's always a module you will really enjoy. The staff are so helpful and you feel comfortable asking for help if needed The city life is great it's a small city with plenty going on, easy access to other cities via train and a great night life

Who knew that stepping into a building would change my life completely. 360. No joke.

In my first year I was shy and quite, thoughout the years I have grown as a person, now more outgoing and independent. Making friends here has been easy. The staff are really friendly and will go over and beond to help. I wouldn't go to any other uni.

University gave me the confidence I really needed, especially after being in lockdown and having to deal with COVID. I have always struggled with making friends but have found friends I know I will have for life. I enjoy being around people a lot more, I enjoy lectures and study days at the library with friends. This has been something I've always wanted and now get to experience. University was a great choice for me and I am incredibly glad I chose Hull.

Freshers week was fun last year. There was plenty to do and a lot of effort had gone into organising everything. New students felt very welcome and there was lots of information about the area and things to do. I stayed at The Courtyard in first year. The rooms were newly built and provided a modern feel to it. The reception staff were very friendly and always helped if you needed something. The library is amazing at Hull. The 24 hour access is extremely useful for those with an alternative working schedule. The sports facilities are amazing and the university gym is great too. The classrooms are clean and well decorated despite them being in older buildings. First year provided me with a different range of skills and knowledge about different subjects that I didn't know at all. In first year, I got a taste of all the different subjects in the business faculty. For example I studied a module on Accounting and finance that i enjoyed. The lectures are interactive and fun and the lecturers are friendly. The city life in Hull is great. There are streets such as Newland Avenue that are filled with pubs, bars, cafes and shops that are located close to the university. In addition to this, the nightlife in the city centre is amazing as there's plenty of pubs, bars and clubs to go too. Hull is a very multicultural place with a lot of history, museums and parks to go to.
