Law (Senior Status) LLB (Hons)

The LLB (Hons) Law Senior Status is a specifically designed degree for students who already hold an undergraduate degree and want to convert to law study over a two year period. Studying our degree will also prepare you in part for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE1) or Bar Practice Course (to qualify as a barrister).<br/><br/>Our legally experienced lecturers bring the law to life through interactive teaching methods for a fulfilling learning experience. During our LLB Senior Status degree, you will develop excellent research and analytical skills and learn to present your ideas effectively both verbally and in writing. The course provides students with a wide range of analytical and transferable skills and is suitable for any profession requiring a non-specialised degree.<br/><br/>Throughout your studies, you’ll receive guidance from our lecturing team to help unlock your future ambitions. When it comes to selecting your Options subjects, you’ll be able to choose from one of three Pathways where the modules will prepare you for the following routes:<br/><br/><br/>• SQE/CILEX - aimed at those looking to qualify as a solicitor or CILEX lawyer<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Business - ideal if you have aspirations to work with commercial clients, as an in-house lawyer or in a commercial career outside law<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Individual - for those interested in working with individual clients, working in the criminal justice sector or who are looking to qualify as a barrister<br/><br/><br/><br/>The Senior Status degree is a particularly good choice for overseas students because you may benefit from some exemptions in your home jurisdiction – a good example of this is the Canadian Law modules available as electives in your second year. We recommend that you check any possible exemptions within your home jurisdiction prior to undertaking the course.
