Our law degree, known as an LLB or Bachelor of Laws, is equivalent to a BA or BSc. If your career aspiration is to be a solicitor or barrister in the UK, this degree will prepare you in part for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE1) or Bar Practice Course (to qualify as a barrister). Our legally experienced lecturers bring the law to life through interactive teaching methods for a fulfilling learning experience.<br/><br/>If you have set your sights on other careers, such as politics, business or journalism, the transferable skills you will learn on your law degree will provide an excellent launch pad for these ambitions and more. With our professionally focused qualification, you can expect to learn practical skills coupled with a focus on your future employability.<br/><br/>The LLB (Hons) Law (Top up) is a 1 year programme delivered at Level 6 for students who have completed a Level 5 Diploma in English Law and therefore require a further 120 credits at Level 6 to achieve an honours degree in law.<br/><br/>Students will study six Level 6 modules, including a bespoke module Law at ULaw which supports the students transition to Level 6 and the approach taken to studying Law at the University of Law. For students who have not covered all of the foundation subjects required to complete the academic stage of training for the purposes of progressing onto a Bar course, there is the opportunity to study options in Land Law, EU Law, and Equity & Trusts in the second term.
