Architecture BA (Hons)

The BA (Hons) Architecture at the University of Suffolk is one of the youngest vocational courses of Architecture in the country. The course offers a forward-thinking, interdisciplinary programme for studying building design, history and theory of architecture creative practices and technology embedded in design.<br/><br/>With us you will learn Architecture as Life. Together we will study global and situated Architecture practices underpinned by three principles: ecologies, pedagogies and technics. By the end of this course, you will know how to design buildings, spaces, objects and urban elements of Architecture that are resilient and adaptive to rapid environmental, social and economic change. Through diverse project briefs, you will address people’s needs and modes of life on a macro to micro scale by means of critical and creative practice.<br/><br/>You will be taught by qualified Architects educated to highest level and trained in different contexts who will enrich your student experience with a plethora of cultural and professional references. With us, you will engage in world-leading events and engage in current discussions around the future of the profession of Architecture.<br/><br/>Our BA (Hons) Architecture is prescribed with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) as Part 1 and is an RIBA candidate course. Successful completion of our full-time three-year undergraduate degree carries exemption from the ARB/RIBA Part 1, which is the first stage in qualifying as an architect. Only those who complete all three parts of the ARB/RIBA requirements, will be able to register as an architect in practice in the UK.
