Our Law (JD) Pathway LLB is an accelerated law degree designed to save time and cost if you are a non-Law graduate who wishes to take your first steps to qualify as a lawyer in Canada.

* Work on real cases, improving access to justice – get involved in our community-focused law clinics, applying your knowledge to help those who urgently need legal advice but can’t afford it.
* Enhance your experience with a year in industry – you can opt for an additional year working at a leading law firm, chambers, business or civil sector organisation, developing workplace skills and making great connections for your career.
* Explore how AI can make you a better lawyer – learn how to use AI to accelerate essential tasks, so you can focus on the aspects it can’t do: supporting clients, exercising judgement, applying ethics and commanding a room.
We're an international community for lawyers who think big. Together with our active and enthusiastic student cohort, we have created one of the most vibrant and stimulating law schools in the country.
What you will study
This accelerated degree is made up of compulsory modules that will fast-track your professional training as a lawyer.
On our Law (JD Pathway) LLB course, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the main areas of legal knowledge, including law as it regulates:
* The functions of the state (public law and criminal law)
* Relations between private individuals (contract law and tort law)
* The ownership and control of land and other property (land law, and equity and trusts).
You will learn how to debate the law, to analyse its application to given situations and to apply your legal understanding in a national or Canadian context.
In your second year, in addition to the four modules required for a qualifying law degree, you will take two compulsory modules: Foundations of Canadian Law and Canadian Public Law.
