Climate change and anthropogenic activities are major threats to life on Earth. To address these issues, lifelong environmental education is essential for making sustainability a core part of our global society. The United Nations Climate Change Learning Partnership highlights that children today will face the consequences of a changing climate. Therefore, they should be prepared to contribute to the global effort to “build capacity” towards a sustainable future. <br/><br/>Our course team has a strong record in environmental research, with a focus on coastal and marine management and sustainability. These key themes are integral to our programme. We also explore the conservation of environmental habitats and the integration of green infrastructure within a city environment. Swansea’s unique location and climate challenges, such as flooding, provide students with opportunities to study and engage with ‘soft’ or natural engineering solutions. <br/><br/>You will learn the science behind various environmental issues. The programme’s wide scope is supported by strong industrial engagement and includes fieldwork/field trips, allowing you to apply your learning to real-world scenarios.
