In addition you could work in a variety of settings including the NHS, Ministry of Defence, Private Practice, Sport and more.<br/><br/>Having up-to-date skills and knowledge will put you in a strong position for securing work in this varied and dynamic field.<br/><br/><strong>Why UWE Bristol?</strong><br/>During the course, British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) student members may apply for malpractice insurance upon successful completion of the Sport Rehabilitation Practice 1 module for a small fee. The policy allows students to practice the soft tissue massage techniques gained on the module autonomously. Progressively, soft tissue competencies developed in modules Sport Rehabilitation Practice 2 and 3 can be added to the policy.<br/><br/>Combining university-based experience with extensive placement experience, youll learn how to provide safe and effective care to people suffering injury, illness or disease related to sports and musculoskeletal conditions.<br/><br/>Explore good professional practice and study the academic subjects that underpin it.<br/><br/>Gain first-hand experience of providing injury assessment and management services to patients in both clinical and sports-based environments.<br/><br/>Provide services to local sports teams and clubs, and UWE Bristols elite athletes in our Glenside Sports Injury Clinic.<br/><br/>Learn to use the latest resistance equipment for rehabilitation and performance enhancement.<br/><br/>Engage with practising graduate sport rehabilitators, sport dietitians, strength and conditioning coaches, physiotherapists and academic tutors working at the forefront of sport rehabilitation.<br/><br/>Complete a pitch-side first-aid qualification, as a valuable extra certification for working with sports teams.<br/><br/>Complete a minimum of 400 hours clinical placement experience, across a variety of sport and healthcare settings. With opportunities to explore working with multidisciplinary medical teams within sport, private and public healthcare, occupational and specialist rehabilitation settings.<br/><br/><strong>Where can it take me?</strong><br/>Graduate sport rehabilitators are in demand across the UK and due to the new International Agreement, can now work internationally.<br/><br/>You could work in a range of sports and health care settings including, the NHS, Ministry of Defence, Private Practice, Sport, specialist rehabilitation settings and more.<br/><br/>Some graduates set up in private practice, or go on to postgraduate study.

15 Level 3 credits at Merit in Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport, Sport and Exercise, or a related subject.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
A minimum Grade 5 in Higher Level Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport or Sport and Exercise. We accept the IB Career-related Programme in conjunction with other Level 3 qualifications.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

You will need a minimum of five units in Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport or Sport and Exercise. You may be asked to do more based on the size of your units. Examples of BTEC units that meet our Biology/PE requirement include: Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Nutrition, Sports Injuries, Sports and Exercise Massage, Fitness Training and Programming, Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport, The Physiology of Fitness, Psychology of Sports Performance and Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology. Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)
H2 in Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport, Sport and Exercise, or a related subject.
GCSE/National 4/National 5
Grade C/4 or above in English, Mathematics and Double Science, or equivalent.
OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma

A level
Grade C in Biology, Human Biology, PE, Sport or Sport and Exercise.
T Level
Science and Healthcare Science. If you partially achieve your T Level, you can meet our subject requirements if you have at least a C in your Core Section. For further advice on acceptable subjects please email admissions.
WJEC Level 3 Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales
We accept tariff points achieved from the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales in conjunction with other Level 3 qualifications. This qualification cannot be used to satisfy any subject specific entry requirements.
