Alongside the acdemic grounding you'd expect from a law degree, including contract, tort, public law, property and equity, you'll examine why the world is organised into competing states, how power is exercised between them, and where international law, diplomacy and armed conflict fit into that picture. You'll study realism, liberalism and constructivism alongside negligence and trusts; the UN, NATO, the WTO and the EU alongside the English legal system. The result is a degree suited to students aiming at legal practice, but equally suited to careers in diplomacy, international organisations, policy, journalism or humanitarian work.
