On this programme you will study History alongside a language (Chinese, French, German, Italian or Spanish, from beginners or advanced level). You’ll develop written and oral skills and will learn about cultural aspects, including national histories. You can choose from a range of topics from medieval to contemporary history. Level 3 qualifications can also be considered in conjunction with another qualification in a relevant Modern Language (e.g. A level or IB Higher). No Modern Language required for language-beginners' route. For those seeking to study Chinese, a demonstrable interest, but no prior knowledge required.

Scottish Higher

Minimum of 5 Scottish Highers - some subject specific grades/Advanced Highers may be required.

Access to HE Diploma

Pass required. (Can be considered in conjunction with A level or IB Higher in relevant modern language.)

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

Pass required. Including grade H5 in relevant modern language. (No modern language required for language-beginners' pathway.)

We will accept this qualification in conjunction with other level 3 qualifications.
