Birmingham Newman University

My University has a strong, diverse community. Newman is an open armed and very welcoming University when it comes to different cultures. There is a designated prayer room for those in need of it especially during the holy month of Ramadan. I appreciate the amount of focus and one to one help that can be provided due to the university being smaller than other. Teachers are great and are usually teachers first and almost like friends for second. I also enjoy playing for my University football team which is full of a great bunch of lads.

To start of I'll just state why I personally choose a small university like Newman. It's not only for the fact that you get to know not only the staff, but the other students on your course. Whilst being able to have great quality debates based around topics that are recent, and having your own ideologies on current topics or other aspects of the course either challenged so that you can grow, or just being able to make your own stand points on issues if you lack one. But the small groups are great for those who need more support, due to the fact that you become more than a face in the sea of others, but are actually seen as an individual by all those you work with.

I have absolutely loved my time at Newman - it is the place for you if you want to feel somewhere you belong and are always welcome!

The lecturers are fantastic and engaging, they are extremely creative in their approaches towards learning. You feel they really care about you and remember you as a person, they know your name and want to talk to you!

Newman university is amazing university that offers a variety of different course and has great facilities such as Student Support, Students Union, Library,The Sport and Fitness Centre Career and Employability Hub etc
The university also offer accommodation to students

My experience at Newman has been fulfilling and inspiring they have continued to support me throughout my studies as well as supported students through the cost of living issue currently.
Making it a pleasurable experience too come to University every week.

The freshers year at Newman university gave me more experience and also enablled me to make friends and get to know people from the same University. Great space and excellent student support The accommodation at Newman is excellent, it gives you privacy and also great service The library staff are friendly and helpful with range of different books and also there to assist. The classrooms were spacious and also wheelchair accessible which is a great as there was some students on wheelchair. The gym was well required and great staffs A course or a lecture is only great when there's a good and helpful lecturer there and I must say we have some great lecturers who always helped us and I even emailed them during the weekend yet they replied as soon as possible. Great engaging environment City Center was only 20 minutes away from Newman University which means it was great for students and staffs

Freshers week was really good as I had a tour of the university. I made some friends and the stalls were useful to my course as I was able to sign up to various projects to support my studies. The accommodation is located at a perfect distance from university. Facilities are easy to access and very friendly in order to meet the needs of all people. E.g there are ramps put in place for wheelchair users. The library is my favourite place as it is spacious and easy to get around and staff are always happy to help. I have used the sports facilities and really enjoy it Lectures were always there to support us and any questions or enquiries about the course I felt comfortable enough to approach my lectures without hesitation. There was a wide range of activities. Activities were running everyday on zoom due to Covid. Unfortunately there was no freshers fair. I personally do not live in it but I have been in my friends and there is alot of space and a nice desk to do University work. These facilities are really good becuase the classrooms have lots of space and the sports centres are really good for teaching PE. I enjoy my lectures as I find them interesting and they do help with my assignment. I feel like I have grown close to my tutors as I get to know them and they get to know my name. I was born in Birmingham so I was already familiar with the city but there is alot near Newman for example Northfield and Bullring.

Freshers week was amazing. There was a variety of activities and days planned ahead for us. So all we had to do was turn up and have fun. Really started the academic year off with a bang! I couldn't say much about it as I didn't live on campus Amazing. Everyone was so helpful and kind. Made me feel right at home! We had help all throughout the year. With honest marking, feedback and lessons planned in accordance! Birmingham was beyond my expectation. Everything was so easily accessible through public transport!

It was great..Great. All students are extremely friendly and welcoming..Awesome. Extremely clean and well organised.Lectures are pretty straight forward and tutors are very helpful.It's good but, not for everyone..Be ready for lots of assignments
