Shared first year

Your first year brings you together with students from our Intelligence Analysis and Investigation pathways, giving you a solid grounding in global security theory, structured analytical methods, and cyber-risk fundamentals. This means that at the end of your first year, you will get the opportunity to change your course to one of those in the shared first year if you want to.

Flexible study options

This course is available as either a full-time, in-person degree at our High Wycombe campus or as a fully online distance learning programme. In-person study gives you access to live workshops, guest speakers, and face-to-face networking with peers and professionals. Distance Learning, on the other hand, is ideal for those needing more flexibility, offering access to expert-led content, virtual simulations and real-world case analysis from home. Whichever route you choose, you’ll learn the same high-quality content and gain the same qualification.

What Will I Study?

This course develops knowledge of global security and its application to the aviation sector. You'll study intelligence, security operations, structured analytical techniques and cyber security before progressing to specialist areas such as aviation safety, crisis management and security risk management. The course also develops professional skills in leadership, decision-making, problem-solving and communication. In your final year, you'll complete an independent research project on a topic of your choice, supported by academic supervision.
