Wide variety of topics

Our degree covers many disciplines to give you a solid understanding of business skills, including marketing, people management, international business finance, data analysis, international law, and more. You also have the opportunity during your course to choose some modules.

Guest lecturers and industry visits

Modules are enhanced by guest speakers from industry bodies, live briefs from local businesses, and may include visits to nearby points of interest. In 2024, students enjoyed a tour of the London Stock Exchange. This connection between your classroom studies and the working world helps to build your confidence and understanding of how the topics studied are applied in the field. You will be better prepared for the time after you graduate.

Foundation year available

If you are interested in International Business Studies, but feel you want to develop your confidence in degree-level learning first, this course is also offered as a four-year programme including an initial Foundation Year, starting in September.
The Foundation Year will allow you to develop your academic study skills and build confidence in your abilities, identifying your own strengths and development needs for progression onto the undergraduate course. Once you pass your Foundation Year, you are guaranteed a place onto your chosen course and will enter the first year of the international business degree.

What Will I Study?

This course develops the knowledge and skills needed to operate in international business environments and manage organisations across global markets. You'll study areas including project management, international trade, digital business strategy, financial decision-making, equality, diversity and inclusion, and cross-cultural management. Shared modules with other business students provide insight into different business functions and how organisations operate as a whole.

As you progress, you'll explore leading diverse teams, analysing business data and understanding the impact of global external environments on organisations. Optional modules allow you to tailor your studies in areas such as business law and family business management. In your final year, you'll study international finance, supply chain resilience, sustainable strategic agility and innovation, alongside completing an independent professional project focused on a contemporary global business issue.
