What Will I Study?
This course develops your knowledge of child development, learning and professional practice within primary education. You'll explore inclusive approaches to working with children and families, while examining current issues, policy and practice within the sector. The course encourages the development of your professional identity and employability, supported by regular guidance from your tutor.
You'll study themes including social justice, children's rights, safeguarding, inclusion and ethical practice, alongside the historical, cultural and legal frameworks that shape education. You'll also develop valuable transferable skills in communication, problem-solving, teamwork, digital technologies and lifelong learning. On successful completion of the Foundation Degree, you may progress to the BA (Hons) Professional Practice (Primary Education) top-up degree.
