• Critically explore theories of community development, focusing on the inter-agency impact and effective collaborations.
• Critically evaluate approaches to supporting the well-being and sustainable impact of our communities within contexts of social inequality and policy change.
• Design research-informed, creative interventions that put children and young people at the centre.
• Understand how social inequality, policy and advocacy shape support for children and families.
• Reflect on your professional practice through shared learning with peers across the sector.
What’s more, you’ll join a diverse community of learners, supported by expert tutors who understand the demands of studying alongside work and family life.
Following successful completion of the course, you’ll have the opportunity to continue your professional development by moving on to our one-year BA (Hons) top-up degree qualification.

A2 level (or equivalent Level 3 qualifications), GCSE English Language at grade C or above (or equivalent). HLTA status may also be accepted as an L3 equivalent qualification. You may be asked to attend an interview A minimum of 6 months experience of working with children or young people (this can be cumulative) and you should be working in a child/youth related setting in a paid or voluntary basis for at least fifteen hours a week. Places are offered subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
