Creating sustainable spaces<br/>As climate change and a range of ethical considerations forces us to address the true cost of new buildings, youll practise sustainable interior design through creative re-use of existing structures.<br/><br/>As part of this course, you’ll:<br/><br/>• Study in a well-equipped studio environment in the vibrant city of Leeds<br/>• Use traditional art and design inspiration and processes, along with digital media, to sculpt, draw and model innovative interior architecture<br/>• Develop your place-making talents to shape sensory, emotive and tactile contemporary interior landscapes<br/>• Complete design projects in response to human issues, live briefs and external clients<br/>• Become an imaginative, ethical designer at the forefront of interior architecture and design practice and be supported in your individual aspirations and creativity<br/>• Showcase your design talents to the public and impress industry professionals by exhibiting your work at the end of your final year<br/><br/>Industry expertise<br/>You’ll be taught by experienced practitioners whose backgrounds are in top architecture and design industry consultancies and practices. Live projects will give you the opportunity to engage with real clients, user groups, experts, practising designers and architects.<br/><br/>We have produced a blog and podcast that offer advice on preparing your portfolio for the application process.<br/><br/>Social updates<br/>Check out our Twitter (@LBU_BAInterior) and Instagram (@leedsbeckettinterior), where we post student work, blogs, podcasts and lectures.<br/><br/>Student work<br/>See examples of work from previous students by visiting the Leeds School of Arts festival site or our 2019 Research Yearbook; Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, Volume 4 & Volume 5.<br/><br/>Guest lectures<br/>You’ll have access to guest lectures and workshops throughout the year, both on campus and in conjunction with external organisations.<br/><br/>The INSIDE/OUT lecture series brings together some of the most exciting names from the fields of art, architecture, design, fashion, film, music, performing arts and beyond. You can catch up on previous lectures by visiting the Leeds Arts Research Centre site.<br/><br/>Interior architecture community support network<br/>We have an effective community support network and peer-to-peer support sessions. You’ll have access to evening events free of charge that include a range of social activities to support your mental health and wellbeing.<br/><br/>Our mentorship scheme<br/>‘M’ is our mentorship scheme, which pairs our final year students with practising designers and alumni who can offer professional guidance when entering the workplace.
