Members of your teaching team currently deliver a wide variety of support services to coaches and athletes at all levels and across an extensive range of sports.<br/><br/>**Centre for Sport Coaching research centre**<br/>All of your lecturers are engaged in our world renowned research Centre for Sport Coaching, based at Carnegie School of Sport. The centre focuses on three broad topics: <br/><br/><br/>- Effective and ethical sport coaching practice to improve participant and performer development experiences and outcomes<br/><br/><br/>- Coach learning, development, and education<br/><br/><br/>- Coaching policy and systems<br/><br/><br/>The centre’s research underpins the design, delivery and real world connectivity of your degree.<br/><br/>**Hands-on experience**<br/>Invaluable placement opportunities will give you the chance to put your learning into practice. You could be coaching children from local schools or working on campus assisting our coaches, some of whom work with Olympic athletes. Or you could gain experience in the wider sports industry. <br/><br/>We support placements at professional and local clubs in sports including:<br/><br/><br/>- Football<br/><br/><br/>- Netball<br/><br/><br/>- Rugby league and union<br/><br/><br/>- Hockey<br/><br/><br/>- Swimming<br/><br/><br/>- Tennis<br/><br/><br/>- Cricket <br/><br/><br/>**Additional qualifications to boost your career**<br/>In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to top up your experience with professionally recognised vocational qualifications such as Emergency First Aid and Safeguarding Children.
