It has been co-developed with and co-taught by the United Nations Institute for Research and Training, a world-renowned institute working with sustainable development and humanitarian action practitioners.<br/><br/>The Department of Geography & Environment is one of the most highly rated Geography departments in the UK for research impact and home to the world leading Loughborough Centre for Sustainable Transitions: Energy, Environment and Resilience (STEER) - Accelerating sustainable development for all. <br/><br/>The degree focuses on equipping students with high level skills, knowledge and attributes and you will be taught by expert practitioners from the sustainable development, energy and humanitarian field alongside internationally recognised researchers. Alongside advanced subject knowledge, the programme develops competencies in industry standards models and software for geographical information systems, modelling climate change and modelling sustainable development. A collaborative and co-productive approach to learning is taken, and you will be expected to address real-world questions through individual research and analysis, group work and problem-based learning.<br/><br/><strong>Who should study this programme?</strong><br/>This programme is suitable for graduates of a variety of social science, humanities or science disciplines and will equip students for employment in the growing sectors of industry, governmental and non-governmental organisations tied to sustainable development, humanitarian action, sustainable energy transitions, and climate change mitigation.<br/><br/><strong>Please note that this is a fully distance learning programme and therefore it is essential that students have access to a reliable internet connection and a computer with a camera and a microphone capable of making video calls.</strong>
