About Northumbria University

Northumbria University, officially The University of Northumbria at Newcastle, is an academic institution located in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North East of England. It is a member of the University Alliance. The University has two large campuses. City Campus, located in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, is divided into City Campus East and City Campus West by the city's Central Motorway and linked by a £4million bridge which in 2006 was officially opened by the former Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Lord Digby Jones.

We have two campuses in Newcastle, one in the heart of the city and our Coach Lane campus which is three miles away. The City Campus is just a few streets from Newcastle’s cultural centre and marries a unique combination of innovative buildings with historical listed buildings.

Some campus highlights include: the award-winning City Campus East for Business, Law and Design courses, Student Central - our one-stop support centre and library, our new Computer and Information Sciences Building, the Sutherland Building and Sport Central – our state-of-the-art sports facility. The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is based at Coach Lane, and has excellent computing and library services, its own modern Students' Union, and sports facilities.

We also have a London Campus, just minutes away from Liverpool Street station.
