Media Studies, Year 1

The freshers week was difficult, but I found it really helpful to build up my knowledge before I started the course. It helped me build up my confidence towards the subject, as I didn’t have much knowledge at the beggining.

New College in Swindon, is a really good, modern type school, with many different courses, so it fits with many peoples’ needs and wants. The staff is always available to help you with any struggles. Students are really helpful and friendly, no problems whatsoever

All facilities in New College are modern, well organised, fully equipped, with many different areas so it fits to different people’s needs. The food in school is always fresh and high quality. Classrooms are always equipped with all the stuff you would need to learn with.

The course I chose was helpful and it really had an impact in myself choosing my career path. The teachers are really helpful, and it encouraged me to continue the study here, and i’m happy, that i chose it and i would not swap it for anything else

City life is going great, although it’s loud in the middle of the day, but i enjoy it, met a lot of new people on that journey, and i’m still hanging out with them. There’s a lot of places to entertain myself such as: cinemas, shopping malls etc.

At the beggining, it will be tough, but since you get to know the course you study, it’ll only become easier and easier, and you will start enjoying the course more and more. Since you roughly get to know the whole course, you get to really start getting the idea of planning your future.

Tourism / Transport / Travel, Year 3

My freshers week was fun I've enjoyed most of it. And I've meet amazing people, however it was so nerve racking at first, it was one of the most memorable week in my life. New college Swindon doesn't have accommodation as it's a college that offers higher education, this great for students who doesn't want to leave home or can't leave home. The facilities in New College Swindon is fantastic library is big and it has almost ever book and equipment you need. The student union their so approachable and friendly they will support you and guide you the right people to talk With my course travel and tourism I learn about the different type of attraction that people can go to around the world also I've about business side of the travel and tourism industry Swindon is great cuz of the town centre and the outlet village but I must say that it can get a little bit creepy in the evening.

Asian Studies, Year 1

The freshers week were nothing special. We did have fun and that but I rather preferred the house party that following week. There is no a combinations. The facilities are good in size and clean as well as there is a lot of bathrooms and the gym is cheap so is the food at the canteen. The teacher took her time to make sure everyone got what she was explaining before she carried on with the topic. The city is quite small so there is not a lot to do but there is a lot of young people and the nightclubs play decent music and housing is rather cheap compared with other towns. You need to atend all your classes other wise you will find it hard to follow and always take notes you will most probably need them later to revise

Other, Year 1

I did enjoy the course that I was studying. The material was good and the support was excellent. The only downfall was that there were only 5 people in our course and there wasn't enough range and variety and there was a lot of clashing. You can't network very well with such few students.

I lived at home with my family so I had no issues with accomodation and Swindon itself doesn't have a full university so it doesn't have a student nightlife. I think that it would be useful to have a university in Swindon as it would help to connect more people and there would be a lot more job opportunities after the courses if there was one.

Very poor communication from Swindon New College. Kept me hanging on. Resulted in me finding a far nicer, friendlier college running the same course. Bye bye Swindon.
