Social Care, Graduate

(5)·By Lucy N·Social Care· Jul 2021
Freshers week was very good, lots of organised events and activities. Met lots of new people and found new places I didn't stay in accommodation at Newcastle college so can't comment on facilities Classrooms were large spaces lots of seating and a clean environment. Large library including journals ebooks and everything else you could need for assignments along with a private study area. Teaching was really interactive, lots of discussions during lectures and lots of help and support available when needed. City life is very busy, always new places to go and lots going on! Could never get board, and night life is next level.

Computer science, Year 1

Work is good. Nightlife is better. 3 out of my 4 lecturers are great. The other one is absolutely shocking and I learn nothing from him.

Art / Design, Year 2

(4.8)·By Alicia L·art· Jul 2021
My Freshers week was absolutely fantastic! It gave me the opportunity to explore city venues and meet lots of new, friendly people. It gave me the chance to explore what nightlife my city had to offer. My accomodation is fantastic! I lived with really nice flatmates and finally had the chance to live on my own, away from home, and gain some independence. The classrooms are specially equipped with the latest art and design facilities. The students Union are very supportive and have events often. My course consisted of a class of around 20 people and I like that it is a smaller group. The lectures are enjoyable and I feel very included. City life is beautiful. I love exploring a new city and meeting new friends. I love the history and the experience of it all.

Emmmmm... Don't know what to say

(4.3)·By Amanda -·Other· Oct 2018
Newcastle was good, when I arrived they didn't make me feel left out and had some great techniques on getting to know your future classmates, which is sometimes needed! Some Classmates, when going into group projects are terrible, others are great, and this is kind of the same when it comes down lecturers as well. It's a massive hit or miss!

I spent quite a bit of time in the City, shopping mostly and ended up joining the gymnastic club here, it's good and there are soooo many clubs available, from baseball to football. That's actually massive bonus for this.

As for the Student Union, I actually avoid this like the plague, it's just not my thing but was constantly told of gigs going on so it is an active place, unlike some unis! After my course I went into postgrad education and an I am now studying that.

Love it

(4.3)·By Hannah T·Other· Oct 2018
I absolutely loved this uni and the area. I am now living in Newcastle after I graduated! I loved going out on student nights, and even the locals are so friendly and fun. You see so many familiar faces its pretty cool. There are so many pubs and clubs to go to! There is a place call The Mushroom, which is my favourite, drink prices on weekend are not to bad when you compare them to London prices! I completed my course it 2 years, while others unis/colleges can take 3 years, this worked well for me as I wanted to start earning as quickly as I could!

Music, Year 3

Lots of fun! Newcastle is a great city for a good night out and has a very social environment! Perfect for making new friends! Very nice and can be suitable for anyone - there's a good mix of shared accommodation and private studios too! Very good and accessible! There are plenty of information resources at my university and each has helped to contribute to my learning! Our course is very social and we have to work as a team quite often to get positive results so one of the main good things would be that! City life in Newcastle is great! So much to see and do, with a wide range of activities for everyone!

Intense art course with learning new skills along the way. It is small class but we all have a big heart.

Design, Year 2

Lots of offers and rewards within uni and the area as a whole. Great atmosphere but did have a slow start. I live at home but the work space we have is very open and inviting, it has lots of work on show for inspiration though some machinery eg printers are quite old The student hub is very modern and just been renovated though there isn't much other that that. Most people often don't stay longer than the lecture as there's nothing to do and too expensive There was a wide range of subject learning ready for us to progress to second year and onto our foundation Degree. We had a range of lecture with lots often including engaging tasks such as in groups Newcastle is a big and busy place though have some perfect little spots to visit. Transport is great and easy to travel between places
