It was fun, lots of activities to do. Very lively atmosphere and environment with great societies to join! Great way to make friends Safe & sound accommodation with necessary shops on campus. Essential locations close by to the accommodation Library was great! Could have been a little renovated as it is an old building. Student union is very helpful & lots classrooms and rooms for independent study A lot of mentors and lecturers were ready to help students individually. Teaching is at a very high standard with all necessary facilities available Absolutely great! Lots of leisure activities close by & travelling my train is very easy too! Good restaurants and views around the city

Psychology / Criminology, Year 3

(5)·By Milena N·Psychology· Jul 2021
Overall, the university had some online activities such as pub quizzes. There was a socially distanced movie night as well. Freshers was not as fun as other years due to the lockdown. I do not live in accommodation as I commute to university. However I have been to lots of flats on campus and they are lovely and clean. The student union room is really cozy and the university bar has pool tables which is cool. The library has lots of facilities although at times not enough books. The lectures are structured in a cohesive way and the workload is very manageable so I liked that I have free time to pursue other commitments. The course material is also good in the sense that it is not overwhelming and lecturers are present if we need help. London is a very fun city and there is always something to do and somewhere to go, albeit it can be expensive. I love living in the city because of all the transport links and also the availability of shops and different cuisines here.

Drama, Year 2

(5)·By Lydia H·Drama· Apr 2019
Freshers week for drama was great. There were loads of opportunities set up by the school to meet all of the other drama students. They made sure there was enough informative events without being boring and allowed plenty of time to have fun.

The accommodation at Queen Mary's was great. It was pretty affordable for London, the quality of the rooms were really good and all of the estate support we're helpful and friendly. The campus is also in a great location, allowing you to explore the whole of London

The library is huge but more importantly their online resource is fantastic and so easy to use. They also give you £10 print credit which is so useful and lasts for ages. All of the classrooms i have been in have been satisfactory and the performance spaces are very well equipped. The SU bar is so cheap and the events are always a fun thing to do. Monday night's are particularly fun

The main reason I chose to go to Queen Mary's is because of the amazing teaching staff. All of the lecturers are carrying out independent research and making theatre so this informs and broadens your horizons. The wide variety of modules you can choose from allows you to narrow down your particular area of interest

London is truly the best city in the world and being a student there is amazing. There is never a dull moment as there are always events and different things to do. Despite some things being expensive, like all cities, London is great for student discount at large attractions and often have student nights meaning going out doesn't have to break the bank.

Don't go to Queen Mary's expecting a traditional drama degree. This university will push you to your creative limits and challenge you by introducing you to knew and innovative performance styles. The balance between practical and theory is always well balanced and relevant to each other. You are given space to explore your areas of interest and the course prepares you well for wherever you want to go after the course.

History, Year 2

(5)·By Maraea F·History· Jul 2021
It was good, we had a freshers fair with a variety of groups to join, including many cultural and political groups. We had numerous introductory sessions to meet new people too. I didn't live in their accommodation but saw some friends accommodation. When visiting their flats they seemed spacious and well laid out and would be suitable for many students. The student union is very active and allows many to participate, including the cafe Ground which uses its proceeds to fund the union. The main library on the Mile End campus is very spacious and has different areas for quiet or group learning and I find it easy to navigate. I enjoy my lectures as the lecturers are very engaging. Even whilst they have been online they remain interesting to follow with discussion groups useful in aiding my learning . The city life is great, with lots of pubs and clubs nearby as well as cafes for when you want to get off campus. During freshers week they had wristbands to access all of the clubs which made it easy to meet new people in London universities.

Biology / Biotechnology, Year 2

I took part in only the day events but I had so much fun and met the people that I now call family I commute to university. But from what I know the accommodation is pretty central. I'm in love with the main campus library. It is huge. You can find any book you need. And there's a cafe on the ground floor of the library which is really handy. The laboratories are very well equipped. The good thing about my course is that it's really interesting on my opinion and even more interesting when the professors speak with so much passion as it is often their area of expertise or research. It's London so city life is really busy. But it's great because there are a lot of opportunities.

Law / Legal Studies, Graduate

Amazing. Very welcoming. We even had a law BBQ where we got to socialise and meet people. Although I lived at home and travelled to uni, I do know my friends loved living on campus. The library is huge and very accommodating with a cafe and prayer room inside. We had a student hub with a fußball table- a great place to relax and socialise. The lectures were always recorded and easy to review and were always followed by seminars in a classroom environment to further our understanding and to ask any questions we may hve in a smaller environment. Well it's London! Very lively something to do for everyone!

English Studies, Graduate

Freshers week wasn't really advertised enough. There was no way of knowing what was going on unless you were informed by others or happened to be on campus. The actual events were great I didn't live in the university accommodation. I commuted to uni everyday. The library was great, spacious and friendly staff. The classrooms were spacious but it was h ard to find an empty classroom for work. I loved the course. The staff were helpful and the resources were invaluable. The lectures and teaching standard were high quality. London city life was great. It was never hard to find something to do or find somewhere new to eat or shop etc.
