Integrated Foundation Year
On the Integrated Foundation Year on this course, you will be first introduced to the fundamental principles of architecture and built environments. Your foundation year gives you the time, space and support to explore your strengths, build confidence and prepare for the demands of project-based, industry-focused learning.

After you have completed your Integrated Foundation Year, you will study the following:
Year 1
In the first year, you will develop a rigorous grounding in architectural design engineering through materials research and specialist studies in structure, building performance, and the introduction to environment and services - equipping you with essential technical knowledge.

• Design Studio I: Thinking and Making Structures
• Professional Practice: Role, Identity and Responsibility
• Research Studio I: Place, Memory and Making
• Design Studio II: Systems and Technology
Year 2
In the second year, you will explore urban architecture across a range of specialist areas - including urbanism, urban intervention, branded environments, and sustainable design performance. Work-based learning is integrated throughout, connecting academic study directly to professional practice.

• Research Studio II: Mapping the City
• Design Studio III: Urban Nodes
• Critical Reconstruction
• Design Studio IV: Urban Proposition
• Professional Practice: Live Practice
Year 3
In the final year, you will consolidate your learning through a practice-based thesis, collaborative research, and two major projects spanning design, technology, and an industry portfolio -demonstrating the depth and breadth of your architectural design engineering expertise.
