Access to HE Diploma

Pass Access course in Engineering, Science or Technology subject with an overall mark of 60% to include 55% in Mathematics or Structures module for Year 1 entry. (120 Credit Access Course) (NI Access Course).

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

12 points at higher level to include minimum grade 4 in higher level Mathematics and one other higher level science subject.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

DMM

Pass overall BTEC RQF National Extended Diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering with DMM. The following modules must be included at Merit: Further Mathematics for Construction or Principles and Applications of Structural Mechanics AND a Merit in Public Health Engineering: a Merit grade in Engineering Principles AND a Merit grade in Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems. Pass overall BTEC QCF Extended Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction or Engineering with DDM. The following modules must be included at Merit: Mathematics in Construction and the Built Environment or Further Mathematics in Construction and the Built Environment or Structural Mechanics AND a Merit in Public Health Engineering or Surveying in Construction and Civil Engineering: a Merit grade in Further Mathematics for Engineering Technicians AND a Merit grade in Mechanical Principles.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)

104 UCAS Tariff Points to include a minimum of 4 subjects at Higher Level and 1 subject at Ordinary Level. Higher Level subjects must include 2 subjects at grade H3 from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics/Chemistry, Technology, Technical Drawing/Graphics, Construction, Engineering or Geography. Applicants who are not offering Mathematics as a subject must have Irish Leaving Certificate Maths at grade H6 or above Higher Level or grade O4 or above at Ordinary Level. The overall profile must also include English at Grade H6 or above (HL) or Grade O4 or above (OL).

GCSE/National 4/National 5

GCSE Profile to include Grade B in Maths and Grade C in English. If A level Physics is not offered, GCSE Physics or Double Award Science at grade BB is required. Please note that for the purposes of entry to this course the Level 2 Certificate in Essentia
