**OVERVIEW**<br/>**If you have a strong desire to work in psychology, but specifically in a health setting, this course is for you. Aimed at those who are interested in health and how psychology applies to the modern world, our BSc (Hons) Psychology with Health is designed to lead to a variety of professional roles, from clinical psychologist to counsellor.**<br/>Our practitioner academics and our regional partners who work in psychology-related fields will equip you to work in a diverse range of jobs or progress to study on one of our applied postgraduate courses. As part of this, you will explore core psychological perspectives to help you better understand human mind and behaviour and develop your reflective skills. Alongside exploring theory in the classroom and its application to contemporary societal challenges, you will also have practical opportunities to develop your research skills in our state-of-the-art psychology lab.<br/>Practical work-based learning outside of the University and additional training around mental health are all included in this course, and you will study three bespoke modules exploring contemporary application of theory, to study behaviours relevant to health, healthcare and illness.<br/><br/>**WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE THIS COURSE**<br/><br/><br/>- **PROFESSIONAL BODY STANDARDS** – Written to the standards set by the professional body for psychology and accreditation will be applied for before the course starts in September 2025<br/><br/><br/>- **INDUSTRY-FOCUSED MODULES** – You will have modules shaped to develop the skills valued by employers and get to conduct research you are passionate complete with client interaction<br/><br/><br/>- **WORK-BASED LEARNING** – In your third year of study, you will be able to put your psychological theory into practice by taking on practical work-based learning<br/><br/><br/>- **NO EXAMS** - If you are not keen on exams, this course is for you. Unlike many degrees in this field, you will have no written exams during or at the end of the course and will be assessed through practical assessments and coursework only<br/><br/><br/>- **EXPERT TUITION** – You will be taught by BPS Chartered and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered health psychologists <br/><br/><br/>- **ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION** – In your first year, you will undertake mental health first aid training to gain a certificate to use in your work-based learning or future work opportunities<br/><br/><br/>**FACILITIES**<br/>**As a student on our BSc (Hons) Psychology with Health, it is crucial that you gain experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team and being exposed to the various methods of monitoring health and wellbeing. Therefore, you will have access to our new state-of-the-art psychology lab, where you can develop your research skills, put theoretical learning to the test and measure psychophysiological responses to stimulus with our range of specialist equipment.**<br/>In health psychology, we rarely work in isolation, therefore, gaining valuable knowledge and experience in multidisciplinary teams and environments is vital. Here, you may shadow disciplines such as health and social care to gain a holistic understanding of the role of psychology in different populations and with different stakeholders, with access to environments you may face in the real world.
