Studio Practice (Visual Communication) (Top-Up)

One year to sharpen your voice, find your medium, and set yourself up for the industry.

This is a hybrid course for a hybrid world – blending mediums such as Illustration, graphic design, animation, and photography. In one intensive year, you'll develop independent research, build a professional portfolio, and create a major project that synthesises everything you know into critically informed work.

You'll join a community of artists on a campus where creative thinking and making are inseparable. Taught by practising professionals and supported by expert technicians, you'll refine what you make – as well as why you make it, who it's for, and how it reaches them.

From traditional letterpress and screen printing to projection mapping and augmented reality, you'll train across both analogue and digital processes – developing a contextual understanding and creative confidence to set yourself apart in the industry.

If you prefer a closer, more community feel, UCA’s creative campuses in Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, and Maidstone could be for you. Each campus is home to a vibrant community of like-minded creatives, with supportive and passionate academic staff to help you bring your ideas to life.
