It is designed to give you high levels of hands-on experience in hospital and community settings, with 50% of your time spent in practice settings.<br/><br/>**Course Accreditation/Industry Endorsement**<br/>- All our Nursing and Midwifery courses are regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). On successful completion of your course, you can register with the NMC as a children’s nurse. <br/><br/>**Facilities and Specialist Equipment**<br/>- Access to the latest equipment and facilities at district general hospitals and community health settings during placements. <br/><br/><br/>- On campus, a fully immersive simulation suite, preparing students to respond to and manage clinical situations and scenarios including: <br/><br/><br/>- a five-bedded simulation ward with a range of medical-grade training mannequins, including an infant mannequin, to tackle real-life scenarios in a safe and supported environment. <br/><br/><br/>- a skills room to practise clinical skills such as basic life support; venepuncture and cannulation; and catheterisation. <br/><br/><br/>- an immersive room where we can project a background, such as a tube station, to practise simulation in different environments safely.<br/><br/><br/>- a social living space for practise in nursing children and young people within the community. This living space consists of a children’s bedroom with a bunk bed; bathroom; baby’s room; parents’ room; and a kitchen/diner/sitting room. <br/><br/><br/>- a debriefing room <br/><br/><br/>**Partnerships and Collaborations**<br/>- To ensure your learning meets the benchmark set for care providers, our healthcare courses have been developed in collaboration with regional healthcare providers and health authorities. <br/><br/>**Your Student Experience**<br/>- Work in partnership with a multi-professional team to deliver nursing care to children, young people and their families, learning how to prioritise the wellbeing and safety of children. <br/><br/><br/>- We deliver predominantly face-to-face teaching so your tutors are on site to support you while you get to meet and exchange ideas with other healthcare students. <br/><br/><br/>- Our strong links with regional healthcare providers mean you can secure a local practice placement in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire or East London. <br/><br/><br/>- Our lecturers are all experienced registered nurses and have published widely in their field. <br/><br/><br/>- Clinical specialists from our partnership trusts come to campus to support your learning so your studies are underpinned by the latest research and practice. <br/><br/><br/>- On placement, you undertake a mix of early, late and night shifts to ensure you experience typical shift patterns for a healthcare professional. <br/><br/><br/>- Our Bedford campus is a small, thriving academic community where academic staff get to know you well.<br/>
