The overall aim of the course is to provide an intellectually challenging and engaging learning environment to develop an advanced critical understanding of behaviour change within a public health context to prevent or treat disease. Emphasis will also be placed on the application of knowledge to various population groups and settings and will be reinforced by learning and critical appraisal in the context of example case studies, and current health strategies. Students will also become more aware of the limits of their own competence and various professional boundaries within the behaviour change and public health domain.<br/>Specifically, the course aims are to prepare you to:<br/>- Understand and apply advanced knowledge fundamental to the analyses of behaviour change in human health, physical activity and health psychology<br/><br/><br/>- Solve problems by the application of appropriate tools and techniques <br/><br/><br/>- Research, critically evaluate, summarise and communicate information<br/><br/><br/>- Work effectively in teams or individually using appropriate professional standards of conduct and behaviour<br/><br/><br/>- Problem-solve and adapt health-related assessment techniques and recommendations to suit different populations, settings, and individuals<br/><br/><br/>- Become a self-regulated learner, using an awareness of opportunities for careers or further study in the setting and monitoring of personal objectives<br/>
