**Course Overview**<br/><br/>On our BA (Hons) History course we’ll give you the in-depth knowledge and skills you need to become a historian. <br/><br/>**Why study with us**<br/><br/><br/>- There are opportunities to go on work placements with host organisations such as Lancashire Archives, the People’s History Museum and the Lancashire Museum Service.<br/><br/><br/>- You’ll also have the chance to get involved in international volunteering projects through the University’s Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership (CVCL), with some modules accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).<br/><br/><br/> - You’ll get to take on the Community History Project, which involves working on a live project brief with a real client. <br/><br/><br/>**What youll do**<br/><br/><br/>- We’re focused on giving you employable skills - our Community History Project and work placements combine independent research, critical thinking and project management.<br/><br/><br/>- There are three strands to this degree: British and Irish History; World History; and Heritage. You can tailor your studies around the subjects you’re particularly interested in.<br/><br/><br/>- You can support the international dimension of your History degree by learning a language or travelling abroad, with awards and bursaries available through the University’s Worldwise learning Centre. <br/><br/><br/>**Accreditations**<br/><br/><br/>- The Institute is at the leading edge of management thinking and are a globally recognised professional membership body for leaders and managers. Their research into new ideas, techniques and methods ensures that ILM courses are constantly improving, helping to develop students leadership and management skills.<br/><br/><br/>**Future Careers**<br/><br/>The wide range of skills you’ll gain on this course (from critical analysis to independent research and project management) gives you fantastic preparation for a wide range of careers.
