Our three-year BEng Chemical Engineering degree develops strong foundations in engineering science while integrating modern themes such as artificial intelligence, data science, digital process modelling and sustainability. You will explore how chemical engineers use advanced computation, laboratory experimentation and applied design to solve real-world challenges across energy, pharmaceuticals, materials and biotechnology.
In Year 1, you will study 90 credits of common engineering modules alongside 30 credits of core Chemical Engineering content. This structure gives you a strong foundation in mathematics, engineering principles and digital skills while introducing you to the fundamentals of chemical and process engineering. As you progress, you will build the specialised knowledge needed for careers in chemical and process industries, pharmaceuticals, energy, food and drink production, and other high-growth sectors that rely on chemical engineers.
This programme may include a range of learning activities such as on-campus teaching, practical sessions, workshops, placements or field-based work. These activities form part of the core learning experience.
