**Study a mental health nursing degree for a rewarding career supporting the recovery of individuals with mental health issues and make a lasting difference in their lives.**<br/><br/>What is mental health nursing? and how to become a mental health nurse?<br/><br/>Mental health nurses play an important role in the health and well-being of people with mental health problems and their families and carers. By studying this course in Greenwich, one of London’s leading universities for nursing, you will gain skills to meet the diverse needs of people with mental health problems, including those with complex needs. You will learn accountability for the role you will play in their lives.<br/><br/>As a mental health nurse, you’ll be prepared to work in challenging environments across diverse contexts. You will gain practical experience working within the NHS, serving south-east London and Kent, preparing you for professional mental health nursing roles.<br/><br/>Our degree in mental health nursing makes you eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and prepares you for the role and responsibilities of a registered mental health nurse (RMN). Our course will help you achieve the outcomes identified in the NMC Standards Framework for Pre-registration Nursing Programmes (2019).<br/><br/>All nursing students on courses from September 2020 will benefit from guaranteed, additional support of at least £5,000 a year with an additional £1,000 per year for studying mental health nursing, which they will not need to pay back. Learn more about the NHS Learning Support Fund.<br/><br/>**What you should know about this course**<br/>- You will have access to our state-of-the-art simulation facilities, which enhance your learning and prepare you for clinical scenarios.<br/><br/><br/>- Our nursing courses are ranked among the top four in London’s best nursing schools. (The Complete University Guide 2025).<br/><br/><br/>- You will be placed in one NHS trust for the three-year course, although you will have the opportunity to change your placement area for part of Year 3.<br/><br/><br/>- You will benefit from the NHS Learning Support Fund with £5,000-£8,000 annually for studying mental health nursing. This funding does not need to be repaid.<br/>
